Belhaven Bikes … at the racing!

2016 has kicked off in great racing style!

‘Dig in at the Dock’

We were delighted to cheer on our customer Greig Baird at the last cyclocross race of the Scottish cyclocross season. The event, ‘Dig in at the Dock’ took place Sunday 21 February at Bo’ness, West Lothian and is part of the Super Quaich cyclocross series.

This was our first visit to a brilliant event over a tough course which challenges the riders on a variety of terrain. The competitors also have to cope with exposed weather conditions given the race runs along the banks of the Firth of Forth. However, the riders were cheered on with a great turnout of spectators who enthusiastically rang cowbells and even played trumpets!

Here’s our video slideshow which shows our day at ‘Dig in at the Dock’.

‘Reivers Road Race’

Saturday 19 March saw the Berwick Wheelers hold their Reivers Road Race, which is now a firm fixture in the road cycling calendar. In its third year, the race once again weaved its way through the beautiful Northumberland countryside taking in the picturesque villages of Ford and Etal. The legendary Ford Bank, which featured in the Tour of Britain 2015, also tested the riders during the three laps taking the total of the course to 52 miles.

We very much enjoyed supporting the race again with mechanical back-up and thanks to the Berwick Wheelers for inviting us to join in their event.

Many congrats for the excellent organisation of the race to the Berwick Wheelers, thanks to Scottish Cycling for their support and the many valued volunteer marshals and spectators who turned out to cheer on the riders.

Our video slideshow below captured the day. Thanks to all who kindly allowed their photos to be included: Alex and Mark from the Berwick Wheelers, Leitholm Cycling Club and the Berwick Advertiser.
