Bike Week, which takes place 15-23 June 2013, is one of the UK’s biggest annual promotions of cycling and provides a national umbrella for locally organised events and activities up and down the UK. We are joining in the Bike Week celebrations by offering free bike hire and bike safety checks!
So, during Bike Week you can hire a bike, free for a day, to discover the benefits of cycling. You could cycle to work, take a trip to the local shops, visit a friend or one of East Lothian’s many attractions.
Just recently our hire bikes were treated to a visit to Glenkinchie distillery at Pencaitland and Tantallon Castle, North Berwick. Our hire bikes are now eagerly awaiting to find out where they will be taken next?! Why not visit The National Museum of Flight at East Fortune where they offer reduced ticket prices if you arrive by bicycle. This means an adult can enter the Museum for £6.75 and a child for £3.60. Standard ticket prices are £9.50 for an adult and £4.00 for a child. Cycle parking is also provided for your convenience.
Free bike safety checks will also be offered during Bike Week, although you can access this service from us all year round. We are members of the Association of Cycle Traders and hold Cytech certification, which is the bicycle industry’s recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle mechanics.
